Silence is not success
It ran for months. Then the computer it ran on started falling asleep at night.
The task didn't crash and reported no error. It just stretched from five minutes to several hours. Nobody noticed.
Since then three rules apply. Every task ends with “done” or “failed”. If it doesn't report on time, an e-mail goes out. And what must run all the time runs in the cloud.
An automation you can't tell is running is worse than none.
